Advanced Onsite Systems is a specialty consulting engineering firm for small-scale water, wastewater, and recycled water treatment systems. The firm follows a distributed business model and the vision of its founder that small distributed wastewater and recycled water systems are an essential element of sustainable water resources.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Prior to founding AOS, her expertise in sustainability and talent for systems thinking paved the way for cultural shifts in organizations she worked for and consulted to, including Nolte Associates, CH2M HILL, the Border Environmental Cooperation Commission, the City of Merced, and the Arrowhead Springs Development. 

Barbara's technical seniority and seasoned project management skills provide the fertile ground for selecting appropriate technical solutions, whether for small biomechanical treatment systems, engineering practices for sustainability, or integrated multi-disciplinary plans.

Advanced Onsite Systems offers expertise to for challenging projects through technical studies, planning, design, permitting, and construction support. Barbara’s emphasis on stakeholder involvement means that regulatory agencies recognize an open and accountable team player, fostering collaborative solutions despite project constraints.
